MISSION

ARTISTS HEAL® is committed to creating healing and care spaces for collaborative art-making and serving the thriving arts and culture sector nationally.

The vision is to reimagine a design for creating that supports the holistic wellness and well-being of artists, creators, and art consumers.

Through the development of practical and accessible tools, ARTISTS HEAL® serves artistic communities through programming, workshops, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility consultation, and community development.

It is our mission to support artists and makers by creating healing and care spaces designed to allow for mediation, encourage conflict resolution, and reduce and redress harm in real-time.

Authentic, truthful, and ultimately healing collaborative art-making is the goal.

ARTISTS HEAL® creates and facilitates self-liberating and equitable spaces that allow artists to explore the possibility of healing from trauma through decolonized artistic practice and process and speak truth to power. Through an artistic practice that prioritizes marginalized and vulnerable communities, by actively decentering Whiteness and dismantling White Supremacy artists, makers and consumers are released from the trauma's bondage and introduced to new pathways leading to healing.

ARTISTS HEAL® hopes to fill the space that lies between where we’ve been and where we are going by giving breath to the healing that is required in between.

We embrace the process of healing, its gradual nature, and are committed to creating spaces where communities can take the necessary steps to make sustainable changes.

OUR GOAL

ARTISTS HEAL® seeks to offer new pathways for artists to engage in collaborative art-making free from the harmful, dysfunctional, and abusive systems of White Supremacy.

It is our goal to help marginalized and vulnerable communities heal from previous trauma and create spaces that redress and empathetically witness harm in real-time.

When intentional changes are implemented and practiced trauma prevention, harm reduction, and healing is possible for artists, creators, and consumers. Freedom from the bondage that is trauma and a return to the body’s natural state allows for connectivity, flow, artistic capacity, and expansion.

Through creativity, collaboration, and communion we are able to connect and genuinely engage, resulting in truthful and authentic art-making.

It is through the process that we become free, create sustainable change, and healing happens.

WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION

ARTISTS HEAL® is designed to prioritize and support the healing of marginalized and vulnerable communities.

ARTISTS HEAL® works with corporations, institutions, organizations, non-profits, and individuals interested in embracing a vision of a world free from the harmful, dysfunctional, and abusive systems of White Supremacy, including capitalism.

The pricing structure is designed to reflect equity and neutralize the socio-economic disadvantages of marginalized and vulnerable communities.

Through a multi-tier payment structure, PWI’s and white allies are able to engage not only through their participation in programming and implementation of shared information but also monetarily through donations and payments that reflect equitable pricing.

This structure is designed to close the gap in pay wage discrimination and eliminate the obstacles to accessible healing and care resources for marginalized and vulnerable communities.

Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.

This method is designed to engage artists in a journey to healing supported by a growing and developing artistic practice.

Each concept is foundational and designed to not only help folx to establish an artistic practice but weaken harmful patterns and re-establish and strengthen pathways that support healing through collaborative art-making.
